Bungo Stray Dogs (Season 2)

Where it all began...

...for Dazai at least.

Season 1 of Bungo was amazing with its weird but wonderful characters and storyline, minus the part where Nakajima Atsushi was able to improve his combat skills without warning. It's still a jump in the story that annoys me.

Overlord (Revisited)

Who said the game was over?

ol

So after watching one episode, I reviewed Overlord and then dropped the series. I didn't give it the benefit of the doubt back then, but I did this time, and I realised how much I was missing and how bad my first review must have been. Overlord is definitely better than what my review (may or may not) say, but then again I haven't gone back to check what I wrote. You can find it here on the Blogger site of The Animanga Effect (not giving you a link because this review will sell Overlord to you).

The Royal Tutor

Why can't all tutors be this amazing?

trt

I actually can't remember what made me want to watch this, but it's just adorable and funny. I'd end my review there, but there's a lot more to talk about than just saying it's adorable and funny.

When I got into the first few minutes of the The Royal Tutor, it felt like it had some Diabolik Lovers vibes going on, but fortunately this proved to be wrong. Not that Diabolik Lovers is a bad anime in my opinion; the characters could have been fleshed out a bit more, and for me it was curiosity that made me watch the entire series. But we'll get on to this topic in a sec.

Attack on Titan (Season 2)

Just when you thought you knew what was going on in Season 1

AoT2.png

My did Season 1 end with a cliffhanger, which I am gonna spoil because it's been what, 3 or 4 years(?) since it aired: Titans in the walls! Talk about a bombshell.

Attack on Titan comes back after a long wait with a very intense plot as we delve deeper into the AoT universe. So much is going that I have no idea where to start. Well, I can say that Season 2 carries on from where Season 1 ended with everyone who was fighting the Titans looking at the part of the wall which crumbled after Annie had grabbed it in her attempt to escape from Eren in his Titan form.

Koe no Katachi

The past can come back to haunt you

It's not often you come across a manga where a person has a disability, and this is what drew me to Koe no Katachi. The huge difference in what you usually come across in the world of manga and anime, you know your fantasy worlds, typical high school romance stories and what have you,  is a nice breath of fresh air, and after coming across it via tweets when the movie was what everyone was talking about and seeing a couple of clips, I just had to get in on the hype.

And it truly is amazing. Koe no Katachi follows Ishida Shouya, a boy who's bored with life and tries to add some excitement to it by becoming somewhat of an adrenaline junkie. His fearless actions are adored by his friends even though they aren't really fans of what he does, if you get what I mean. Nevertheless, they want to be around him.
